The One-Year Cohort Journey
Our Programme
How we walk alongside eight women each year from identification through counselling, literacy training, and graduation.
Restoration Path
A Step-by-Step Walk
Our cohort program is designed around a close-knit group of eight women. This small size ensures that counseling, visits, and support remain deeply personal and effective throughout the year.

Before the cohort begins
Women are identified and recruited from within the community alongside Mrs. Lorna Kileteny, a respected Maasai woman who has spent more than a decade walking with women across Narok County. Each woman is interviewed and completes a profile assessment before joining. Eight women joined our first cohort in 2025. Eight joined again in 2026, the number we have been able to faithfully walk alongside with the team and resources we have today, while trusting God for what the future holds.
Orientation Day
The women meet one another for the first time. They meet the team who will be walking with them throughout the year. We introduce the Women's Resilience Circle, answer questions, share what the year ahead will look like and begin building relationships. Every gathering begins the same way: time in prayer, Scripture and fellowship before moving into the day's sessions. That rhythm begins on Orientation Day and continues throughout the year.
Two weeks later: The seminar
The women return for a one-week seminar. This is where many begin to find their voice. Stories that have been carried quietly for years begin to be shared, some for the first time ever. Group counselling begins during the seminar under the guidance of a professional mental health support counsellor from the same community as the women.
The months that follow
Our team begins weekly home visits, getting to know the women in their own environment, meeting their children and building relationships with their families. Individual counselling also begins. Over the course of the year, every woman receives more than 10 hours of one-on-one counselling together with over 12 hours of group counselling, depending on her needs.
Financial literacy & school fees
Around March, financial literacy sessions begin with a local business expert who walks with the women as they develop business ideas into practical business plans. After 13 sessions, each woman receives business capital from the Women's Resilience Circle to begin that business. As the school year continues, school fees are paid directly at the beginning of each term, giving mothers space to continue their own healing journey without carrying that burden.

Graduation
Graduation marks the end of the cohort, not the relationships that have been built. A day or two after graduation, the women leave together for a retreat before returning home to begin the next chapter. The graduates then form their own alumni circle, choosing their own leadership, meeting together, praying together, encouraging one another and continuing their table banking long after the formal programme has ended.

Intentionally Small & Focused
Women's Resilience Circle is intentionally small. We welcome one cohort each year so that every woman receives the time, care and support she deserves. Because places are limited, not every referral will receive a place in the programme. We encourage every woman and everyone referring a woman to complete the referral form honestly, knowing that every application is carefully reviewed.
Who can refer a woman?
A referral can come from:
