Eunice's Story
“For the first time, I went to the school without borrowing money for transport.”
Today, Eunice shared this photo with me.
At first, I thought she was simply sharing a special moment from her daughter's school. So I asked her about it.
She told me it was Prayer Day for her daughter, who is in her final year of high school.
Then she shared something I wasn't expecting.
This was only the second school event she has attended in the last four years. The first was when she took her daughter for admission.
I asked her what made yesterday different. She smiled and said,
"For the first time, I went to the school without borrowing money for transport."
Then she added something else.
"This is also the first year my daughter has come home for every school break."
I looked at the photo again.
What I first saw as a school event was, for Eunice, something much bigger. It was the joy of being able to show up.
