Karesian's Story

She wasn't talking about the house. She was talking about the peace she has slowly found.

I was with Karesian yesterday.

She looked tired, but steady.

Her house is being taken down. The one a family member gave her to live in. That same family member sold the land, then told her yesterday to move out this morning.

No time to figure things out. Just move.

She's now shifting into a small mabati structure. It was built years ago for her sons during their circumcision season. It's not meant for living. But it's all she has.

That's a lot for anyone.

But what stayed with me is how she's carrying it. She's not stuck in blame. She's not holding rage.

She told me that after the WRC seminar and the first counseling session, she started working through the anger. She said it wasn't easy. But she forgave.

She even looked for two women she had held pain against for years. Made peace. And now she's back in her Bible study group. She had left before because of them.

She's showing up again.

That might sound small, but it's not. That's a whole shift inside her.

That's what healing looks like.

It doesn't mean life stops being hard. It means you become steady in the middle of it.

This is the kind of change that's hard to describe until you see it. But this is what we do at WRC.

We don't just counsel. We walk with women through moments like this. So that when the house is taken, they're still standing.

Please keep Karesian in your prayers. She's rebuilding. And she's doing it with more peace than she's ever had.
